We are taking cruise around med in october and wondered if anyone can advise whether to visit portofino or milan whilst there. Thanks

Recommend you visit Portofino, great place for people watching and very swanky.

Portofino is a very small village and you won't find much there to do except pay silly prices, so go to Milano.

My personal choice would be Portofino. However, if you prefer large cities . . .

Didn't notice you were only staying a short while, visit Portofino quickly then walk around Santa Margarita, i lived there a while and enjoyed it, more choices to eat.

For visit Portofino you have to take a train in Genoa and get off in Santa Margherita Ligure station,ad after take a local bus
