Hi again! Can someone help me with scheduling Lucerne? My plan is to leave Zurich as early in the morning as possible to get to Lucerne. Once in Lucerne I want to take the family to Mt. Pilatus, the chapel bridge, the Lion Monument and (if time) a cruise around the lake. Are all these things possible in a day? If this is too packed, please let me know.
Also, if this was your day in Lucerne, how would you plan it? Thanks for your input!! |

I forgot to add that we would take the latest train available back to Zurich that night so we could spend as much time as possible in Lucerne.

chapelbridge is just 200 meters from the train-station and it is lighted at night and open all time, so you may leave it to the very end.
The Lion is a walk of maybe 1000 meters or 1-2 stations by bus, a gate might be closed at night, I am not sure, AND in fact it looks better on the postcards than in reality. a cruise is possible, they also have evening-cruises and all of them start in a distance of only 50 meters from the station ! Your total itinerary might be a bit too "packed" anyway, except you just rush up and down Pilatus instead of hiking a bit there as well http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/1ffe4/a8c1d/
