What is the best way to get to the main Dusseldorf airport from Dusseldorf train station. Seems to be a few different ways on vrr website. Also is the cost 1.10 or 2.10 euro - don't quite understand A* tariff.

Direct S-Bahn trains are the best way.

A* are short hop tickets valid just for 3-4 stops. The stops you can reach on such a ticket a listed on the timetable displays of each stop.

Actually the A tariff is for one area. THe VRR covers the entire Rhein-Ruhr region. I live in Düsseldorf and will give an example: An A ticket can be used all over Düsseldorf. If I want to go to Dortmund, Duisburg, Essen, etc. I would need a B or C tarif ticket since it is farther out. This means from the airport to Hbf you need a ticket with Preisstufe A.

If you are buying 1 ticket just for the ride from Hbf to the airport you can just use one of the machines and put in your start and end station and it will print the ticket for you.

I,m reaching Dusseldorf from India on 24th Afternoon and have to go to Duisburg . What can be the best economical route and what could the approximate cost. I hope you can find it for me.

This ticket is a zone-to-zone ticket. You can travel with it to any train/tram/bus stop in Duisburg.
