Mosquitos did not bother me at all. The complex was sprayed regularly.
However I did get bitten by other insects only a couple of times. Very itchy! I took ant-itch creams and sprays - highly recommended. But, my husband was bitten a lot more - so take precautions. Cayo Guillermo is BEAUTIFUL. You should be asking - How good is it in Cayo Guillermo? Beach chalets are about 50 feet from the beach. The area is remote and secluded but there is plenty to do and loads of organised trips.

Depends - I got bitten once (not by a mosquito) and my husband got bitten loads in the first week and my kids got hardly got bitten.
Bst thing to take is lots of anti-itch products and insect repellent. They normally spray the complex. Dont worry - it didnt stop us having a great time.

mosquitos wern't as bad as people have been saying, most of the resorts in cayo guillermo/ cayo coco when i was there sprayed at a certain time at nite... it was definatly not recommended to go outside during those times cuz the chemicals were brutal, but once they sprayed it was alright!
