Seychelles Where to go?
Posted: Tue July 10, 2007 09:37 AM UTC
My husband and I will be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary in October. We are planning a special holiday, but are really so scared of making the wrong choices. (Be it our first time planning such a big trip) I need feedback on the following hotels: The Plantation Resort and Casino and then the Coral Strand Hotel. I read some reviews that really scared me. I need to know if the service are good? Rooms neat? Food good? Transport available? Close to restaurants? Is it worth the money to stay in one of these hotels? Is it better to go to Seychelles than to Mauritius?

Hi,

Plantation Club i would not recommend. The hotel is getting a bit old and might not be up to your expectations. Both Plantation and Coral Strand are 3 star hotels. If it is all you can afford price wise, then i would suggest Coral Strand. Also old, but it is in a better location. In the north of the island, near to more restaurants and other hotels.

Otherwise, i would suggest maybe you look at some of the smaller properties and hotels, which can offer a more cosy and friendlier atmosphere, not to mention cheaper. In the northern area i would suggest , Coco D'Or. It all depends on your budget. If you are looking for a romantic holiday , unspoilt beaches and want to do nothing but relax, i would suggest Seychelles. Mauritius is not as beautiful

For more help i would suggest that you contact one of the local agents in Seychelles , Masons Travel on info@masonstravel.com They are experts and will surely be able to help you in booking your holiday. They also provide transfes and assistance when in desitation.

Hello there, having been to both islands recently, I also wouldn't recommend the Plantation resort, lovely grounds etc, but the beach isn't that great, least in my opinion, we stayed at Coral Strand 3 months ago and this hotel lacked atmoshpere and service when we were there, however it was definately on the best part of Beau Vallon Beach. Beau Vallon is close to a few local restaurants and the rooms were neat enough, not glamorous tho. If you are wanting luxury you will need to go a better hotel. Mauritius isn't as beautiful as Seychelles, but they do have super hotels and it is still very nice with nice calm seas etc and a nice atmosphere. Trou Aux Biche is a lovely hotel there and the hotels in general are of a high standard and if in Marutius the West/North West is the better part to be in my opinion. Please feel free to ask me anymore questions.
