Forum Question Posted By: Replies:
Blackpool Age Groups
Posted: Mon July 9, 2007 07:00 PM UTC
Hiya, i was just wondering
1) if you could give me an idea of things that 16-17 year olds can do on a holiday in Blackpool.
And also...
2) What children age 11-13 can do on holiday in blackpool.

I was just thinking of things that there are other than the waxworks and the pleasure beach. Especially for the 16-17 year olds.

Thanx.

Sandcastle water place good for 12-13s I guess. 16/17 yrs your guess is as good as mine.
Tower of course although can be expensive. You can spend a long tiume in the Tower complex
Bowling alley on the front
Miles of sand for games but swim at your peril!
GO karts at Starr Gate - a bit isolated at that end of the promenade yet good fun all the same. You could take a tram there
Stanley Park would be an alternative to the front. Large boating lake here I recall.
Hope this helps

Blackpool, as with most places, is a bit short of things to do for this age group.

It depends what they are into? As mentioned above, the karting a Starr Gate is great fun but will only keep them occupied for a few hours.

There is of course the Pleasure Beach - you can often get day passes for around £15pp - not sure if this applies high season though?

Stanley Park is a great day out for all the family with crazy golf, boating lake, nature trail etc. Plus there are numerous events hosted at the park throughout the summer and if you can coincide with one of these then you really can make a whole day of it - be warned though the cafe is VERY expensive!!

There is the opportunity to go horse-riding nearby.

And, depending on the budget, you can also take a pleasure flight from the airport. This costs £120ph (or did last time I went!) and the plane will seat 3 people plus the pilot.

Hope you have fun!!
