From vigan take the buses going to baguio. its about 5 hrs trip tops. From baguio take the night trip bus to banaue. By dawn you will be in banaue. Inquire on the central bus terminal just below sm baguio.
If you dont mind taking several buses and jeepneys, take any bus going to manila and alight at the carmen junction in pangasinan. from there take any bus going up to cagayan. Alight at either solano or bagabag in nueva vizcaya and ask around where the jeepneys are for banaue. Start from vigan early at dawn and you will be able to make it to banaue by nightfall. BY car, its about 8.5 hrs from vigan via carmen on a fast clip. More if theres traffic. From vigan follow the highway going to manila. after reaching villasis, there is a long bridge and just as you go down on it(cramen junction), take the road on the left of the intersection. this will bring you to san jose, nueva ecija. as you reach the end of the carmen san jose road, take the left (maharlika highway) and continue on to santa fe,solano and as you near bagabag, look for a "y" junction. Take the left fork and it will bring you to the town of bagabag and on to banaue. If you take the right fork it will bring you to isabela and cagayan. bong

Yes, it may seem near by looking at the map, but even by direct route through abra-kalinga-bontoc-banaue road or cervantes Ilocos sur-bontoc-banaue road , it will take the same amount of time because of road conditions. Did both routes during the summer months, but would not reccomend doing it during the rainy season.
