| Quebec | August 16 to August 19 Posted: Fri July 6, 2007 08:29 PM UTC
Is there any events during this weekend ?
What is a good recommendation for a small inn or bed & breakfast ? How far of a drive from Montreal to Quebec City is it ? Thanks, Larry |

You don't really need a special event. The City is always bustling with activities. But to answer your question there is no specific event that week end other than Expo-Quebec which starts on the 15th (or thereabout) and lasts until the end of the month.
For a good B&B with perfect location, try Le Manoir d'Auteuil (www.manoirdauteuil.com/). The owners speak English and are very accommodating. If you book, tell them Richard sent you. But book ahead, hotles are kind of ful in the summer. The drive between Montreal and Quebec is about 2-2.5 hours. Write agian if you need more info.

I emailed to see reservation possiblity, thank you. I was just wondering about events, I really don't need an event to see a city, just curious. Thanks.
Anyone else have suggestions ? Places to eat a good french meal under 100 canadian dollars ? 80 canadian dollars! Larry

One of the best values for money in the city is Le Graffiti on Cartier Street. You will not be disappointed. Be careful not to fall for the tourist traps along Grande Allée and St Louis Street.
L'Echaudé is also a very good bet. Their duck confit is the best in the city. You'll find it on Sault-au-Matelot street. Have fun.

Exactly, avoid the traps, if you can think of anything else, especially culinary, please provide tips.
Also, what are the nicest parks to walk and just sit on bench & relax?

I suggest you to go out of Montreal or Quebec city, Go see Mt-Tremblant, a superbe mountain, 2 hours from Montreal, There is a festival of Blues all summer and a lot of other things to do,Or go to Zec, fishing on a boathouse, or go to Mt Megantic to see the stars at the observatory, open to public, one off the most beautifull place to see. Or go on a lake do skying, blablabla so many things to do here you will be out off time and stay more longer. there are restaurants in every villages, don't worry, it is always good you should try La poutine tipical recipe, no-where in the world, you will enjoy Meet french people, If you like have a beer...Well tell me if you need more info, I am tours leaders.
