Chamonix-Mont-Blanc english ski instructors

Are the ski instructors fluent in English? This will be my first time trying to ski and it would be helpful for me to be instructed in English considering that I don't know much French.

Most ski instructors can speak English, French and possibly German too. They are very ueds to teaching people from all over the world. If you find out which slopes you'll be on you can find out from their websites.
Incidently when I went to that area skiing, I bumped into a ski instructor who was teaching in Itlaian, but he spoke to me in English! :-)
Hope that helps!!
Oh and your other question, we hired a car to get from Geneva to Chamonix and picked it up from the airport. Though Chamonix does have a train station so I assume you must be able to get a train there.
Good luck!

Hi,

Try Evolution 2 http://www.evolution2.com/cham/evo2-ecole-uk/index.html which is a French owned ski school in Chamonix that caters to the English market. It's not just that they speak English, but the style of teaching is more to the expectations of the English speaking market. The ESF (Ecole de Ski Francais) has a reputation for the 'bend ze knees and follow me' style of teaching (though recently they seem to be trying to move away from this reputation, I still see plenty of red-jacketed ESF instructors in that genre out on the slopes each season) whereas Evo 2 and some of the others are more 'new school' and will do more personalized lessons.
