Hello, I will be in St. Petersburg for the Rolling Stones Concert at Palace Square. I arrive from Helsinki on the Repin train at 2230 on 27 July. I am staying at the St Petersburg International Hostel 3rd Sovetskaya, 28. I do not speak or read any Russian. Is it easy to navigate the metro to Ploschad Vosstaniya. Is Nevsky Pr. a direct route to the Palace Square? How far? is it walkable? Is anyone going to the show?
Thanks in advance, Joe Philadelphia, PA USA |

3rd Sovetskaya, 28 is in 5-10 minutes walking form the metro station Ploschad Vosstaniya. Change to the metro station Mayakovskaya and then go 1 stop to the metro station Gostiny Dvor (3 exits - you need Griboedov Channel exit). Then walk to Palce Square - it takes 15 minutes.
It's about 4 km from your hostel to Palce square and you can walk and see the main street of the city - Nevsky Prospect. Along this way you will cross Fontanka River, Griboedov Channel and Moika River. See pictures of the route in your mail - I've sent. Have a nice time in our city!

Hi Joe,
it sounds like you are arriving at Finland station, right by Metro Ploshad Lenina, Lenin Square. It is two stops from there to Vostannia Metro (14 rubles). It is about 45 minutes walk to Palace Square, right down Nevsky Propekt. Have a great visit!

Watch your wallet. Russians are crooks and criminals.
