Good day,

How many hours does it take to travel from Tashkent to Samarkant and from there to Bukhara?

Are there any historical places in Tashkent? I saw nothing about the historical places in the Tashkent section.

Hi Vugar,

Tashkent to Samarkand should be 4-5 hours by car. It is a smilar distance as Samarkand to Bukhara, which is also 4-5 hours by car.
I cannot judge how long the trains or busses take, I took a taxi in the case of Bukhara-Samarkand.

Tashkent does not have much historical sites left. A lot was destroyed during the big earthquake. There is Kukeldash Medressa, close to the bazaar, 16th century. The old town is north of the bazaar, but also not much of Medressas or Mosques left.
But Tashkent has excellent museums, like the Museum of Fine Art and the smaller Museum of Applied Arts.

I didn't take a taxi from Tashkent to Samarkand, as my trip was a "round trip" from Uzbek cities to Tajikistan and then back to Tashkent through Ferghana valley. But it should be around 20 USD as well. Definitely less if you share a taxi with others.

Yes, I liked plov very much ! But I also liked the yoghurt much, ahh, so good !

I ate a tasty yogurt in Turkey.

I plan to visit Uzbekistan, but I think I shall be travelling by bus from Tashkent to Samarkand and from there to Bukhara.

yes, maybe bus is better. I know of travellers who took a bus from Bukhara to Samarkand and they said it was a nice and relaxing travel.
