I give up!!!!!!!!!!

This is the Portugal/Algarve forum.

Lagos is an historic town in the Algarve in Southern Portugal after which the town of Lagos in Nigeria was named 500 years ago!!!!!!!!!!

It is safe and definitely a lot safer than Lagos, Nigeria!!!

Having got that sorted!

The question on surfing!

Khoutek is right - The best surfing beaches are on the west coast of the Algarve about 30km west of Lagos between Vila de Bispo/Praia de Amado and Carrapateira.

You will need a car to get there. There are no buses that run anywhere these beaches.

Have a good trip.

We're definitely surfing in Lagos, ah ah ah!
Lagos is on the South coast of the Algarve which is no good for surfing :-(
In Portugal only the west coast is "surfable", where Sagres is. But go there, and along Algarve's west coast and you'll see the most beautiful beaches of Europe. Ocean, waves, cliffs, sand, an impressive sunset, no houses behind.
