I am travelling to Alvor on the 7th July. Is it quite easy to get around the resort? I chose it because I had heard it was quiet but is there easy access to more lively resorts should we want to venture away from Alor.

Alvor is small place... You have to travel arround to see many things!

Alvor is very walkable. I hired a car from a local agency and drove westwards down the coast. It was a great day out.
I walked down the beach (low tide) to Albufera and back. Took a while, but was a great adventure. HAve a great time!

We spent a week at Vitors last year.
Alvor is Beautiful. The caves on the east end of the beach are spectacular. We had a car for the week and I was glad we did. There are many beautiful communities and markets in the Algarve. I really think you'll want a car. Go back into the hills and visit monchique.
