We're starting in Xining on 1/7 and have to be back in Lanzhou to catch a train by noon 25/7. Our route is approximately Xining -- Huatugou -- Charklik (Ruoqiang) -- Hotan -- Karghilik (Yecheng) -- Yarkand (Shache) -- Kashgar -- Karakul -- Tashkurgan -- Kashgar -- Yining (Sayram Lake) -- Bu'erjin -- Hanas Lake -- Tian Chi -- Urumqi -- Turpan -- Dunhuang -- Lanzhou.
On our present itinerary, we seem to have a total of 5 lakes: Qinghai Lake (Xining), Karakul Lake (KKH), Sayram Lake (Yining/Yili), Hanas Lake (northern Xinjiang) and Tian Chi (Urumqi). How many days is needed for each? I don't think we need to see all 5?! Which ones should we drop? Mainly looking to take nice photos. |
