Just wondering how far and what train station is near the Holiday Inn Padova. We're coming from Florence, is there a direct train to Padova?

There is about one direct train per hour from Florence to Padova - see www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html .

The train station is 3 kilometers from the hotel. Look at www.viamichelin.com . The train station is at Piazzale della Stazione, and the hotel is at Via Po 197 in San Bellino (a suburb of Padova)...a short taxi ride...
