Mykonos Where to stay
Posted: Sun June 24, 2007 11:15 PM UTC
I'm planning to travel to Mykonos on the first or second week of September with my two grown up daughters. We're going to meet up with friends and would like some advice on a where to stay. We're thinking about a hotel close to a beach and with a pool. Fairly close to tavernas etc. Any suggestions? Look forward to hearing from you.

It's 20 years since I was there so I can't recommend anywhere to stay, but unless it's changed the beaches each have their own 'classification', such as nudist beaches, gay beaches etc. I can't really remember which was which, though I think there was one called 'Paradise' that was partially nudist and another called 'Super Paradise' that was fully nudist.

Hi

Yes gay bathing at Paradise and Super Paradise beaches - "hunks without trunks" is the expression I'm told!

What is your budget per night (in euros)? How many people?

I suggest second week in September. In fact the later the better. Crowds and prices are less.

The Kamari or the Nissaki at Plati Yialos are ideal as is the location. Family beach a few hundred yards away as is the bus stop to town and boats to the other beaches also there are plenty of tavernas there.
