anyone stay there and if so whats the scoop on it......

RD is very good. New hotel in renovated building -- my room had hardwood floors and bathtub --everything was brand new. good breakfast plus free WIFI (but i left my laptop at home :( ) Run by husband and wife -- she's US and he's Vietnam. i stay in hanoi often, and i'd say i can definitely recommend it -- as of last week anyway.

really hanoi has a lot of hotels - plus a lot of scam artists. you can find nearly price - but the service is sketchy. if you get there and get scammed by a hotel (they raise prices on you, don't have what is promised, etc.), I'd say just walk out. Especially if you are in the Old Quarter as there is always another hotel just down the block ...

One tip - they want to sell tours, so don't tell them if you don't plan to buy one. Just say you want to relax a few days and think about it. Sometimes that doesn't work tho, and they hassle you everytime you go in and out. But if you tell them that you dont want a tour, they'll tell you they're booked and move you to another hotel.
