| Doha | How late is Souq Waqif open on Sunday nights? Other places to eat? Posted: Sun June 24, 2007 03:06 AM UTC
I arrive in Doha at 7 pm on a Sunday and my next flight does not leave until 12:30 am. I want to go into the city for a good (but inexpensive) middle eastern meal, and someone recommended Souq Waqif. I'm worried it won't be open that late though. We probably won't get there until 8:00 or 8:30. Will it still be open? If not, where else can I go to eat? I don't want to stay in the airport the whole time. Thanks.

Don't worry, Middle Easterners eat rather late. You won't have a problem getting food at 8pm. In fact it may even be a bit early ! Last time I had dinner at the Doha Mercure. They had a descent buffet dinner, includig all the usual ME stuff, at a reasonable price.
