| Bilbao | One night in Bilbao Posted: Fri June 22, 2007 09:30 AM UTC
Hola!
I'm flying in to Bilbao tomorrow evening, and will spend the night there. I'll be staying on the Gran Via - wonder if someone can recommend some friendly bars etc.. (I intend to visit the Guggenheim museum on Sunday morning, before leaving for San Sebastian later in the day.) Cheers, finaldest St Albans |

Hi, there is a festival going on 15 min by underground from Bilbao, you only need to get the tube and go to "Leioa" where the festival takes place, it will be full of people, you can arrive there around 11, and the party will last till early next morning. Otherwise you have places like in the street Garcia Rivero, where there is a place called El Huevo Frito with probably the best pintxos in the city, and you can have dinner like the locals, eating pintxos!! You also have in La plaza moyua an irish tavern, although probably is not what you are looking for. You can try and walk around the streets of the old part of town, and have dinner at the main square, La Plaza Nueva.
Hope this helps.

I like down Calle Somera in Casco Viejo (Old Town). K2 is big and open, but does good Pintxos, the other ones nearby are a bit smaller and more intimate, with cheaper beer prices.
As Jontxu suggests though, take a walk around there, there're loads of places. Have fun. Jem.
