i am planning to travel to romania..particularly oradea via budapest during december this year..what are your thoughts? i know there are better times but how will the weather affect travel and activities?

- the city is very nice, especially the buildings, statues.
- the people are friendly
- watch your belongings because like everywhere you can find thiefs

Great! Another Oradea VT-er.. Well, maybe you can answer my question.. Is it easy to get money from an ATM? I know it is possible, just don't know if there are many ATM's around

yes, it is easy to get money from ATM. try to do this inside of a major bank's office. it is much more safer than just from the street.
so let me mention few major bank's names:
- Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR)
- Banca Transilvania
- Banca Ion Tiriac
there are many ATM machines in the city. for example i saw many on the main street. the main street name is: strada Republicii.
advice! to be safe do not do your transactions on the street. i heard weird stories ...

Saturday i will land in Budapest where i'll meet my friend. She lives in Oradea since a couple of years now. We'll stay in Budapest for a couple of days and then head to Oradea probably on tuesday. Am really loooking forward to it. Every site on your part of Romania that i have visited, makes me want to go even more.. Unfortunately there are 2 more days of work to get through...

Winter isn't the best time of the year to travel in Romania, but even so...you'll find Oradea a charming city with nice and welcoming peoples.

Don't know about Oradea in winter but so far i really like it. As soon as i'm home i'll post the pics..

If you go to Oradea in winter make sure you go to Hotel Dacia pool (with thermal water), clean noce and close to the center. You may want to try the Apolllo complex in Baile Felix also. I like it a lot to go swimming in the winter in the warm thermal waters.
