Puerto Princesa Travel Forum

i'll be visiting puerto princesa on august 01, 2007. I'll be celebrating my birthday there and my problem is as to the reviews i have read this month has the heaviest rainfall. I wanted to visit st. paul underground river and island hopping at honda bay..is it possible to visit this places even if it rains? By the way this is my first time to visit palawan. And i really wanted to enjoy my stay even if it rains.

Dont forget to bring a raincoat. Surely, it rains in August - that should not pose a problem to your celebration. *wink*

puerto princessa is not a typhoon belt, so dont worry hope you will enjoy you birthday.

i went there march last year and all was sunny in manila. but halfway through the flight, the pilot announced that there was a "weak" typhoon in pp. true enough, it was raining hard in pp that all honda bay trips were cancelled due to rough seas. still, i was able to enjoy the city tour.

as for the underground river, it may not be advisable to go when it's raining hard coz the road is rough and muddy, and it also entails a 20-minute boat ride from sabang wharf to st. paul.

If the water is too high, the boat won't be able to get inside the cave as one vt member found out to her detriment. I was in Puerto Princesa last week of July last year and the weather was perfectly fine.
