Ios Island Travel Forum

hey everyone,
myself and five friends are heading to ios on the 10th july until 24th! we are flying into santorini airport, arriving late in the evening! after much research, it seems to me that we will have to wait for a connecting ferry to ios until around 4am....would i need to book my tickets for the ferries now or will i be able to buy them before getting on the ferry? i guessed that nowhere will be open at that hour to book? also, some friends will be in crete at the same time as we are in ios...would a trip over to cretye be possible (and easy) to organise transportation wise?!?
any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

my friend made the mistake of getting off a flight and then had to wait in a long long line in 40 degrees heat & the wait was not a short one
