| Busan | Where is dongrae-gu in busan Posted: Wed June 20, 2007 01:58 PM UTC
Looking on the official subway map it seems to be a place called "dongeui university" between gaya and gaegeum stops; have i got the right place here?I'm asking because I;ve been offered a public school job there.
Any help finding this place and a little about it would be great! thanks sam |

It is Dongnae-gu. I don't think there are any Korean words with a "gr" sound in them. She didn't misspell it...per se...but when each syllable is broken down in Korean (hangul), it is DONG RAE GU. However, she just romanized it and ran it all together. It would be spoken as DONG NAE GU (different from the written) so that is how it will show up on maps in English. I know I just confused the hell out of you, but as you start teaching and learning Korean as you live in Korea you will figure that one out. FYI, she could have also written it as DONG LAE GU as well...then you would be even more confused.
