Hi im looking to see if anyone knows how much it costs for a taxi from nantes airport to les amiaux campsite, we are a family of four and dont drive so looking at the best options for us. we arrive around 9pm on the 30th june so trains buses are out, as we will all be knackered.

It is about 58 miles so a taxi is likely to cost quite a lot.
Who have you booked with? Our eldest son regularly books campsites in France through both Key Camps and EuroCamp and is always sent very comprehensive and detailed information about getting to the site - in his case it is always by car.
Could you contact the site office or booking agent?

Hi thanks for you reply, i have booked this through a private owner, He told me times of trains etc, however feel like taxi is the only option for us due to the time we arrive. The site is in the vendee, and im running out of options, was even online tring to look at prices etc to wher we are going, have not had any luck yet.

Have you asked the Owner about Taxis? Even if he does not use them himself he may be able to give you the name of a firm to contact.

Hi Veronica - Just spoken to my niece who lived in Nantes until recently.

As you are a family of four you will probably have a fair bit of luggage. Taxis often charge extra according to number of passengers and pieces of luggage. Taxis at the airport will mostly be licensed to operate within the Nantes City area and will charge on a meter + the extras I have mentioned.

If you cannot get information about from the owner about a pre-bookable Taxi Service at an agreed price you might easily end up paying 70 -100 euros to get to the camp. She paid 25 from the airport to her home on the outskitrs of the town - more late at night and if she had the baby buggy with her.
If there is a train to Challans leaving at a time that would sync. with your arrival that would be the best option, with a taxi from the Challans Station to the campsite.

I think the train idea is sounding the best option for us, and as you suggest, getting a taxi from there.

Daisy - It looks as though Ronnie, the person who asked this question, has not logged on to the VT site since his/her last Post on June 22nd Last Year! So unfortunately we do not know how they got on as there is no feed back and no Tips have been left.
