Rodos (City) How to rent a room?

I really need an information about Rodi. Do you know if is it easy to find a room to rent in this island? Is it true that in the harbour you can find the landlord that offer to the tourist rooms to rent? Do you know any website whit rent notices? And another question is about the tourists; what are the nationalities of the tourists in the island during the summer?

If you arrive by ferry there will be many local people to meet the boats with rooms to rent. Also, at or near the port dock you will find businesses to help you find a room. Tourists from all over the world come to Rhodes in the summertime, China, Japan, Italy, South America, France, England, Scandinavia, U.S.A., Germany, Austria, Africa, everywhere.

Since you're Italian, you might appreciate a wonderful B & B I found through the internet (Google it)....the Pink Elephant, owned & run by chic & helpful Milanese woman. It gets a lot of French tourists because she also speaks French (and we all know that the French know no other language so are tongue-tied abroad) :-).

It's in Rhodes Old Town, convenient to all sights, but not in the middle of the daytime tourist throng, and quiet at night. You walk down one of those amazing atmospheric vaulted-over cobblestone lanes to reach the central area. She serves a nice continental breakfast, and if u ask nicely, she'll add yougurt & honey to it. Reasonable rate; hope it's not fully booked by now... you can e-mail her; say it was recommended by Janet from Philadelphia, who was there in May 2006. If u have a choice, ask for first-floor room; more airy & lighter than ground floor.

Another nice feature is it's right by one of the main wall "gate" (St. FRancis?) which has a bus-stop to Lindos right across the way, so you don't have to go all the way to the bus terminal to get a convenient public bus to Lindos.

The good thing about Rhodes or Rodi in italiano, is that you can find people of all over the world! Name the most rare nationality and you will find it there!
But there are some "local secrets": Rhodes is the favourite island of the Scandinavian people! So many of them! So many Scamdinavian restaurants, bakeries, tavernas, shops etc, you will be surprised!
Of course Germans, British and Dutch people exist in huge quantities and abbiamo l' invasione massiva degli Italiani durante l' agosto!

Buon viaggio!
