| Vatican City | Name of Religious Store In Vatican, Rome Posted: Wed June 20, 2007 02:11 AM UTC
I want to know if there is a website or someone knows the name of the religious store in the Vatican City of Rome that sells copies or reproductions of ancient pottery vases etc. I bought a couple about five years ago and of course cannot find my original receipt to even know what the shops was called. All I remember is that it sold religious items as well and it was in the Vatican City.

Possibly this place? There are three of them within the Vatican.

Well, mafioso, my first question - are you positive it was IN Vatican City, as opposed to just outside its borders? There is a neighborhood called Borgo Pio just east of the Vatican that sells all sorts of stuff.
There is a store on the south side of St. Peter's Square that sells primarily books (last time I was there), and there is a tourist kiosk on the north side of the square...but I would be surprised if either sold copies of ancient pottery vases. The only place that I could imagine that would sell both religious stuff and pagan stuff (as the ancient vases would be) would be the museum store in the Vatican Museums themselves. But the Vatican website refers to the store, but does not have a link for it. You might look at http://www.talariaenterprises.com/ who says they are a licensed reseller of a lot of stuff, including from the Vatican museum store (see the bottom). Also see http://emuseumstore.com/ and do a site search for "Vatican". You can also browse the Metstore (the Metropolitan of New York) and again search for "Vatican" for a few items...http://www.metmuseum.org/store/st_Categori Sorry that I am not finding a link for the museum store itself... Well, J, this is an interesting thought...but they look like the resellers in the square that I was referring to...and they wouldn't have "ancient" (i.e., pagan) vases - at least you can't see them on their website...

They have 'Byzantine' ceramics and Etruscan vases.....perhaps that's it?

I saw the Byzantine (Christian), but missed the Etruscans (pagan)...ah, they are not under the Ceramics page, but if you search for "Etruscan", you do find a few things...well, I am still not sure that this is what the OP was thinking...but hopefully, we'll see...
