Riyadh King Fahad & Oleya Road
Posted: Tue June 19, 2007 11:03 AM UTC
Salamualikom, Halla Walla, Hi!

I want to ask you guys about these streets. What kind of streets are they? From the name, I could guess that King Fahad would be main bussiness street, but Oleya I'm not sure. How far are they to each other? Regarding their locations & the buildings that are there, what is the demography of companies that got their offices in King Fahad & Oleya road? Are they most probably to be decent?

Thanks alot for the infos. Most appreciated.

Regards.

These two streets are the 2 main business streets in riyadh with the main high rise buildings. These roads are parallel roads and very close to each other.

the companies which have their offices on these roads are usually telecom, software, large contracting companies. apart from those you will also find auto showrooms, a lot of malls/super markets, upmarket consumer goods, electronic and music stores, designer stuff etc...

mostly, its an upmarket business area. and oh yeah, there are a lot of apartment blocks too along these roads.

King Fahad and Olaya are, as previous posters have noted, the two principal commercial and retail shoping areas in Riyadh - running parallel (North - South) but located slightly to the west of centre to Riyadh.

Straddled between them are the two major skyscrapers in Riyadh - the Kingdom Centre (with the Four Seasons Hotel) and the Faisalia complex (with the Faisalia [Rosewood] hotel).

If you are to live in this area of Riyadh, be aware that this is the major 'drag' for boy racers in the city and noise runs late into the night

Oleya street is actually names after the area of Riyadh called Oleya, (or Olayah, Olaya or any other spelling). The street starts at the Ministry of Interior (MOI) and goes north, for quite a distance, even beyond the northern ring road. South of the MOI, Olaya street continues but is called King Faisal street. This goes to the heart of the old city of Riyadh.

There are some nice and quite spots on Olayah street. I recon street racers are more on Tahlia street, or at least street posers if not racers. The racers seem to be everywhere in Saudi Arabia.

Oh, a map is more than a thousand words worth. Have a look and it will show the land marks too along K. Fahd and Oleyah Street.
