| Palau | Meals costs, sea conditions and other information Posted: Sun June 17, 2007 12:57 PM UTC
Hi, I am going to Koror in November and wonder what is the weather like in Palau in November? has anyone taken Asian Spirit? How is the flight? Anyone experience flight delays so far?
In terms of cost, how much is expected for a simple dinner? What about Supermarkets, are things expensive? And I will be staying in Malakal, near Sams Tours. Are there any snorkeling sites or diving sites around the area? Is the surface choppy around Blue Corner and Peleliu? thanks thanks. |

If Palau is like other island in Micronesia, November should be nice (since it will be cooler--not in the high 80s).
I've used Asian Spirit within the PI and did not experience any long delays (maybe 30 min to 1 hr). As for dinner in Palau, I found it reasonable. The supermarket are expensive for the US items and cheaper for the Asian ones. I think snorkeling & diving should be good any time especially since you are pretty much surrounded by water. Be sure to go to jellyfish lake.

Hi,
Thanks for the tip. if delay is only as you mentioned, then I am relieved. What about some land-based sightseeings? Anything worth noting? Wlll US$8-10 sufficient for a meal over dinner? I will definitely visit jelly fish lake.

For land based sight seeings, didn't do much but you should try & visit their capital. You won't believe you are in Palau -- since the builings look out of place. (almost what you would expect in the USA)
I think for dinner, the prices you mentioned may be hard to find, since that is roughly what I paid for lunch & dinner may be around the $10 -$20 mark. If you have a rent a car, be sure to eat at Carp Restaurant -- a local recommended it to us for seafood dinner (very good) & the portions are large you can easily share with someone. Have a good trip.
