Hello,

I'm arriving in Sharm El Sheikh for two weeks in September. I went to Cairo and Luxor to see the sites last year and this year i would like to go to Aswan to see the Great Temple of Ramses. Please could you advise me on the cheapest and best posible way to do this?

I could get a flight from Sharm to Aswan...what should i do from there about getting to see the Temple?

I advice you to visit Aswan in december or january, the weather is so good that time , it will be so hot in september, you can visit other cities here in september like Alexandria,

I'm not sure there are direct flights from Sharm el Sheik to Aswan, but you might have to go via Cairo. Anyway Abu Simbel is far from Aswan and it would be better for you to fly to Abu Simbel, instead of Aswan, if it is the temples you want to see. I went to Abu Simbel from Aswan with the convoy and the busride took about 3 hours.

Yes, I think there are flights from Sharm to Abu Simbel. Have no idea about prices. I guess the trip will be offered all over Sharm with several travel agents. Just compare prices! And try to motivate more people in your travel group or hotel to do this trip; if you are with a crowd you can haggle a sever discount.

Aswan is great. A city of tranquility: Nefertari loved to go there, that is why Rameses II built that elegant tempel for her, next to his in Abu Simbel. There is a lot to see in Aswan: Philea Tempel, Kalabsha Temple, Elephantine Island, Kitcheners Island, Nubean villages... a felucca sail in Aswan is uncompared all over Egypt. But Abu Simbel is still 300km south of Aswan.

September will be hot. We have been there in September, but the Abu Simbel tempels have climat control; inside it is cool.

May I sugest a round trip?
You can fly egyptair from Sharm to Cairo, spend a day there.
fly Cairo to Aswan then river nile boat to luxor.
Fly Luxor to Sharm.
