San Gimignano Travel Forum

We are taking the train/bus to San Gimignano in September staying at a hotel right on the city wall. Are we ok just to walk around the city by foot?

We will be there on a Saturday night/all day Sunday... so any suggestions of things to do are much appreciated!

We parked outside the city wall and just walked all over the town. It's not large; you can walk everyplace. There will probably be lots of tourists there even in September but it's a beautiful town and the views are gorgeous.

Your hotel will have lots of tourist info and ask for recommendations too. We've found hotel staff to be excellent for recommendations of things to do locally and also for restaurants.

San G is a small town, and I'm sure you will find walking around very enjoyable. Be sure to climb the tower for some great views, and the shopping is great also...I bought an awesome Borsalino hat myself, and a beautiful leather jacket for my wife...both at nice prices!
