I'd like to know how is the transportation between Alghero and Porto Conte. Are there local buses running often? Is it easy to rent bikes in the area? Are there good beaches around Porto Conte reachable without depending on your own transport?
We are thinking of staying in Porto conte so we'd like to know a little bit more as we haven't found much info on the internet. thank you!! |

There are a few buses between the two but certainly out of season the last one back to Porto Conte is about 7pm. A taxi costs about 30 euros.
We stayed at Porto Conte and absolutely loved it but when we return we will definitely hire a car. We stayed at the Hotel Porto Conte whch has a lovely private beach and hires out bikes at a very reasonable rate. The bikes enabled us to access the lovely beaches and hidden little coves around La Bombarde - superb! The boat ride to Capo Caccio from Alghero is unmissable. There is one restaurant in Porto Conte outside of the hotels - it's called Embracadero and on Saturday nights turns into a disco at 11pm. Great fun!
