Gdansk Bars and Nightlife in Gdansk/Sopot
Posted: Mon June 11, 2007 12:24 PM UTC
Hi, my friends and I are planning a weekend in Gdansk in late September, and wondered if someone could inform us of a good area in Gdansk or Sopot to stay, which is located in the middle of great nightlife. i.e bars.

We are looking to have a total fun time, and plan to party for the weekend.

I would appreciate any help....

Thanks,
Scott.

BEst place to stay in Sopot is around Monte Cassino street. Monte Cassino is the street (pedestrian only) that goes from Sopot train station to the Molo (sopot pier). Best way to find a cheap accomodation is to ask local people. I went to Sopot in 2005 and 2006 and each time we were aproached on the train station by local old people who had rooms to rent. During the school year they rent rooms for students but during the summer they are stuck and are trying to make extra money. Here is some polish words to know: Pokoj=room, pokoj do wynajecia=room to rent, Don't count on your private bathroom too much, but they really try to make extra money so they will be very accomodating to you. Another way is to just stroll down the MOnte Cassino street and look for signs on adjacent streets.
Sopot is better place to party all night than Gdansk, but if you will stay in Sopot, you should definitely go to Gdansk for few hours and see it, because it is really beautiful city.
You will find all you need on Monte Cassino street, all teh restaurants and all the crowd, and night clubs. You can mix up with locals and other tourists and they will guide you which club is the best.....and really street is the best club, there is lots going on after sunset.

here are some private rooms for rent. You should e-mail them and they will answer you in english. Also ask how far are they from Monte Cassino Street. From what I have seen prices are from 25 zlotych up. That is from $10 up. I gues it all depends how far are you from MOnte Cassino and if you have a private bathroom or not.
