I’m checking the prices for myself plus the kids this year, with only a slightly bigger budget than last year. So my first questions of the year are. How much is the train fare to Abydos? Two adults and two kids. It’s got to be cheaper than the convoy. I see from Google Earth that the station at El-Balyana is a bit further than Luxor to the Airport but in a straighter line. Sooooo… does this mean the taxi fare should be similar? Also the train timetable. Last year when I was at Abydos I was told that there is only one train each day and that the train back to Luxor is about six at night but can’t remember the time of the outward journey. Is there more than one train each way per day? Oh and how long does it take on the train? If we ended up with time to kill would we be allowed to spend some time in El-Balyana having a meal or whatever? No doubt I'll have some more ?? nearer the time, but for now TTFN. i not recommended that you make that trip by train you will get so many pushing from the security, cause they not allow it to be like that way, if you would like any kind of arrangments let me know. u can contact me back any time.
