Greyhound station in downtown columbus or take a cheap airline further south and greyhound it from there...
Have fun in my hometown...

I think it all depends on how soon you want to go. I recommend searching flights first, even if you take the greyhound down to Texas or somewhere first it is going to be a very long trip (and I'm pretty sure to get to Texas it goes through Florida first, or something wacky) and I don't think you will save much money. I would search using this website, I have had luck in the past with it.

also Skybus just recently opened in Port Columbus (the don't fly to Mexico, but can get you further south), and have good deals if you plan in advance.

Also, if you don't have a particular destination in mind in Mexico you can probably get there cheaper, I would just search for deals to Mexico.

Another idea is driving, renting a car probably would not be cheap, but a road trip if you own your own car might be fun.

Good luck,
Anita
