Can anyone tips me of on transportation from medan polonia airport to Lake toba? I'm worried i cant get any transportation to Lake toba?

There is a lomng distance from the Polonia Airport to Lake Toba... about more than a half day by car...
It is better you go to the Hotel firstfor one day...and doing one day tour of Medan city..while you are getting information how to get Brastagi and Toba Lake... The Pardede Hotel in Juanda street is so closed hotel near Polonia airport...

And then you go to the Brastagi for the second day....there are some Traveller office at the Hotel to bring you to the Brastagi mountain...I think you need one day for recreation fully in this area..

The third day,
you can contact the travelling aganecy at the Hotel to bring you to the lake Toba...I think you need about 2 or 3 days to go-back there...There are also many accomodation with variety class and rate..

Hi,
I think you will need to go to the mayor bus terminal Pinang Baris to get a big bus to Prapat the town where you get the ferry across to Samosir Island to stay on Lake Toba.
The cost last year was 18,000 rupiah and took only 4 hours.
But I did not go to Lake Toba from Medan- I came by bus from Bukittinggi- a 17 hr bus trip overnight.
Years ago there used to be a mini bus that took travellers from the main backpacker accomodations down to Lake Toba, costing about 50,000 and taking 4 hrs on a crowded mini bus.
Please not that to get to Brestagi from Lake Toba requires a few bus changes and sadly poster no.1 is confusing you by suggesting that.
If you were going to Ketembe in south Aceh you would go past Brestagi and that would make a visit there easy, but not if you are going to Lake Toba.

I should have suggested that once you have spent time at Lake Toba, then travel back to Medan and then get a bus to Brestagi from the Padang Bulan bus terminal.
