| Palau | GETTING TO PALAU Posted: Wed June 6, 2007 09:29 AM UTC
Hi,
Would like to know what is the cheapest way to get to Palau from Singapore? Or any package tour from Taiwan or Philippines? I check the asian spirit airline and found out that from Manila to Palau. It's around 480 USD per person for 3 days stay in Palau. Any cheaper option? Please advise Thanks |

Getting to Palau is not cheap itself, from Singapore you could go to Manila with http://www.cebupacificair.com/ or http://www.jetstar.com
then with Asian Spirit to Palau (via Davao) with others will cost much more. I actullaly do not know how to get there from Taiwan

HI! Sherri:
I think the Cebu Pacific-Asian Spirit tie-up is your best bet from Singapore.... It's cheaper to fly out from Cebu than from Manila.

Hi Sherri,
I just booked my KL-Manila flight with Cebu Pacific. From Manila to Koror with Asian Spirit. You can call Asian Spirit office or email them for details and promotional rate. When do you plan to go? I wonder how much a meal cost in Palau?

You should go via the PI. I travelled to Palau from Guam and it was quite expensive (almost USD thousand) a year ago. But eating there is quite reasonable. I forgot what they call their crab dish, served at Furusato (quite delicious and inexpensive compared to other US seafood places). The crabmeat is seasoned & cooked and stuffed back into its shell.

Hi,
I just found out that AsianSpirit will suspend all flights to Koror starting November 2007 and that sucks because I have already arranged my schedule to fit their flight times. Anyone has news why they decided to stop flying to Palau?

Yup, and I have to fork out a little extra to take the other alternative, Continental Micronesia airlines or abort the this lifetime trip!

Yup, still advertising but they sent email announcement to us. I heard alot of people are heading to Boracay or other nearby islands in the Philippines instead because of the flight cancellation to Palau.
What I don't understand is they never give an explaination to the cancellation. At least find an alternative solution for those who have paid.

@Julie
At beginning this year, when I planed my scuba holiday for last August, as I had already my flight to Manila paid, I found to get to Palau from Manila with asian spirit. Those days (when i was planning) they did not have already planed on their timetable any flights after June07, so I did not trust them to buy and I went to Manado whit Jetstar and SilkAir, so I visited also Singapore (a very beatyful place). Now my question... As Palau is still on my mind, Continental is too expensive, as you have their email address, could you ask them if this stop flight to Palau is temporarily and/or seasonally? In the past at their "normal" email they never answered to me. thanks

Hi cgf,
Looking at the unreliability, I dare not take the risk to use Asian Spirit. Actually they did not state whether the cancellation is seasonal or temporary. Just said that they apologise for flight cancellation due to management decision. That's all. And I sent another email to them and no reply. So i have no choice now.

Hi CGF, whatever is it, do not take AsianSpirit flights. I still have not received my refund after so many weeks. This airline is so terrible.

thanks for your up-to-date....
Actually I'm thinking to try to go to GUAM with my miles and then buying an air-pass to Palau and somewhere else in Micronesia.
