| Puerto Iguazú | Visting Paraguay Posted: Tue June 5, 2007 08:34 AM UTC
Hi VT´ers
In september I will be visting Puerto Iguazu for one whole day and then crossing over to Brazil for one night in Foz fromwhere I have a scheduled flight to Rio de Janeiro. Is it better to go from Argentina-side into Paraguay for a short visit or is it better to go from the Brazilian side? Also can somebody recommend a good hotel which is very close to the town of Puerto Iguazu? Þakka ykkur kærlega fyrir :) Bearzy! |

If you really want to visit Paraguay the most easiest way is from the Brazilian side. (I even think there is no access from Argentina/Puerto Iguazu).
happy travels jaap

You can access Paraguay from Argentina however just be very careful since the Paraguay side can be a bit dangerous at times. This is a major smugglers route (Brazil to Paraguay to Argentina) and the officials you might encounter in Paraguay are not always the most honest. Even when all your documents are in order they have been known to find reasons to "fine" you.
IN addition the Argentine authorities are attempting to stop the smuggling so there have been some violent encounters between police and smugglers. So just be advised and check with your Foreign Affairs office for travel advisories to Paraguay. suerte SAM
