Forum Question Posted By: Replies:
Armenia Visa
Posted: Tue June 5, 2007 07:29 AM UTC
Hello,
I am Lithuanian and I will travel to Armenia via Georgia. is it possible and right way to buy visa of Armenia on the border between Georgia and Armenia? We will go there by train or marshrutka. Is it time consuming?
The other question is even more dificult. My friend wants to get Christed in Armenia, because her mother was Armenian. Is it possible to arrange it in few days? Whan kind of documents she will need? Who has to be godfather and godmother? What documents they should have? She is dreaming to make the ceremony in Ecmiadzin. How to get contacts over there?
Thank you very much

Hey Letute, I found lot's of information about being baptized for you. Part of it is in Russian, hope that's ok for you. But I had to send it to you as an e-mail attachment, so you can read it. To contact the headquarters of the Armenian Church:

Mailing Address
Catholicosate of All Armenians
Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin
Vagharshapat, Republic of Armenia

Telephone: (374-10) 517-110
Fax: (374-10) 517-301
Email: holysee@etchmiadzin.am

For more info, visit www.qahana.am, http://www.armenianchurch.org/

As for visa, it can be obtained on the border for around $30 if you are going to stay here for up to 21 days. Marshrutka is ok, it'll take around 5-6 hours and $20.

Cheers,
Narunj
