In a taxi (which abound at the airport in Puerta Plata) always set the price with the driver before you even move towards his vehicle - they sometimes like to barter, but not too hard. To go to Playa Dorada from the airport should cost you no more than $40.00 in a compact taxi, or $60.00 in a large vehicle or mini bus - it can depend a little on how much luggage you are carrying and how many there are in your group. Depending on traffic - the journey should take around 30 to 50 minutes. Like back home, always tip your driver - $5.00 is enough.

not sure on prices i think around 50 dollars and it will take about 10-15 mins
