I am planning to take a trip to Cesky krumlov from Vienna and back, in October. Does anyone know how to get there? Some member advised to go to Kaplice from Cesky Krumlov. How to I get to Kaplice or Ceske Budejovice from Vienna?
Could anyone give me advice? Thanks !! wmp. |

Hallo, here is one possibility:
train from Wien Franz-Josefs-Bahnhof at 6.21 (No. R2100) to Ceske Budejovice (arrival at 9.49), than from CB at 10.35 (train No. 8105 - it is a local train) to Cesky Krumlov (arrival 11.28). The way back might be a biut tricky - take a bus from Cesky Krumlov autobusove nadrazi at 17.15 to Ceske Budejovice (arrival 17.55) and therefrom a train No. R361 to Wien which departs CB at 18.10 and arrives Wien at 21.47. There is a risk that if the bus is delayed you might miss your train in CB. It would be easier if you spent one night either in C.Budejovice or in C.Krumlov. jan

We recently got back from Europe, and went from Cesky Krumlov to Vienna by bus then train. The buses to Ceske Budejovice take only about half an hour, then you can connect in Linz by train. It was all quite simple, and were in Vienna by 2pm, so I can't imagine it's too hard going back the other way.
