| Basel | Basel Railway Station Facilities Posted: Fri June 1, 2007 06:29 AM UTC
Hi,
Just joined VT & wasted no time in asking first question. In april 2008 I will be travelling from Amsterdam to Bern by rail, changing trains in Basel and taking the opertunity for a couple of hours sightseeing whilst there. My query is does the station have facilities to store luggage for approx 4 hours between trains?, and any suggestions on what to do in those 4 hours from Basel natives would be greatly appreciated. cheers from Oz Mike |

Hi,
yes, there are plenty of luggage deposit boxes at the station (you maust have swiss change!) As to the planned sightseeing: just take the tram infront of Basel station down to the "Marktplatz" or "Claraplatz"; both are in the citie`s center and only a few minutes ride. There you will find the most beautiful old neighbourhoods! Have fun!

There is definately luggage storage at Basel Station, i forget how much we paid, i think about 5-10 Franks and that was for the whole day.
Theres not much to do there really, its a pretty small city, you should try stop over in Zurich?
