Dalmatia - Zadar Region Plitvice lakes national park
Posted: Wed May 30, 2007 07:20 PM UTC
Hi there

We are travelling from Zagreb down to Zadar and would like to stop over at the Plitvice lakes as it looks amazing. My concern is what is travel like into and around the national park? Would we have to hire a car for this as public transport does not seem like it goes through the park - am I right in saying this?

Any help would be much appreciated and I can try help out anyone wanting to travel to South Africa or England.

Many thanks in advance - just a friendly tip would be good and perhaps suggestion as to where to stay in the park?

THANK YOU

Hi Lols,
Plitvice lakes is from Zagreb by bus 2 hours.
Ask when you by ticket one which going Zagreb Split or Zadar true Plitvice.
Then ask bus driver to stop you close to LICKA KUCA.
It is restaurant famous, close by id tourist info.
They can help you with accomodation, or if you continue walking on left you will see after 5 minutes houses, they all rent a rooms.
Price is around 150kuna per person.
That place is nice to stay cause it is only 5 minute walking to the entrance in park.
I forgot is it entrance no 1 or 2
Ticket is about 80 kuna , valid 3 days but person who own private accomodation must put his stamp as proof you sleep there.
Ask.
Plan to stay at least 2 days you will enjoyed. Beter is to go true week, cause on weekend is very crowdy.
Another nacional park is beautifull on your way to Zadar, Krka.
Cheers
