Can anyone advise me regarding taxi's in Luxor. I have to make my way from the airport to my hotel, are the taxi's metered? Is there a counter in the airport which can arrange taxi's for me and set the price? Has anyone had problems with registered taxi's and can they offer any advice? I have assumed there is no bus service into town from the airport and would welcome any advice to the contrary. I have been given a rough guide of 50 egyptian pounds, does this sound right? Is there an expectation that I will have to barter for costs and can the price agreed be relied upon? Any help gratefully recieved.

LuxorLass's price of max 50 LE (Egyptian pounds) is near enough. However, once you've agreed your price make sure it's Egyptian Pounds - the current scam seems to be drivers turning round and saying they meant English pounds!!
