| Cairns | where to stay? Posted: Wed May 30, 2007 06:06 AM UTC
Hi Vters, Father and son coming to Cairns for two nights. Am looking for some suggestions for accommodation, probably 4 star and self contained, but certainly central. Your help is appreciated.

Hi there.
I haven't stayed at this place but drive past it daily. It is a new one, about 2 years old and it looks good. The $79.00 rate sign is what made me look at it. This is a good rate for something like this. I wouldn't worry about a self contained unit for 2 nights, why not wander down to the Esplanade to have lunch and dinner, there are a variety of cafe's and restaurants to eat at, variety of prices as well. If you are touring around the area for two days you really don't need self contained. They will have coffee making facilities and fridge etc in the standard rooms. This place is about a 10 minute walk from the main city. Here is there site. http://www.queenscourt.com.au/

Hi Lee,
No I don't know the Inn at all. I was looking at Quickbeds.com last night and there were some amazing bargains for Port Douglas, check out the Cairns city area in this site as it will be the same. There are heaps and heaps of accommodation places up here. They are along every main road, also along the Esplanade etc. Most offer the same type of accommodation, just prices vary. You only need a bed so don't spend too much. Have a great 2 nights, shame you couldn't stay a little longer to explore the area more. Cheers Anne
