| Pulau Bintan | Bintan Getaway Posted: Tue May 29, 2007 06:17 PM UTC
Helo!!
My bf and i are planning a getaway to bintan on the 17th June. It will be a 2N stay. Therefore.. we would like to know.. What is the cheapest but safest place to stay in bintan? Nirwana Beach Club? Where can we get fantastic seafood at a resonable price? Is it safe to go snorkeling now that there are huge waves? And i heard we can just drive a golf car(those used in golf to ferry ur clubs) around the island? Is it true? Ur help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!! |

HI!
I think the Dolphin Lodge is on Pulau Batam, not Pulau Bintan, unless I am mistaken. There are 2 parts to Bintan. The Bintan Resorts Group portion (northern part) and the real Indonesian part, outside the fence. If you choose to go to Tanjung Pinang and experience real Bintan, you should be able to grab some good deals. A few non Bintan Resorts Group competitors have sprung up too, one of them is Agro Bintan (never been there): http://www.bintanagro.com/front/index.php If you choose to go with the Bintan Resorts Group, the most economical would be the Bintan Lodge followed by Mana Mana, then Nirwana. As long as you are within the grounds of the Resorts group, things will be expensive but you may get some cheaper eats @ Pasar Oleh Oleh. And I think you can only drive the golf car within the grounds of the resort (and maybe only within the grounds of the individual resort you choose to stay in) but I may be mistaken for this one. Bintan is not really famous for its snorkeling. Have a page on Bintan if you care to take a look and see if the tips are useful.
