Cahuita Cheap hotel/bunglo ? Cahuita or area
Posted: Tue May 29, 2007 01:38 AM UTC
Hi, I am a single (just divorced) guy looking at moving to C.R. I was there last year for 3 months and will be there the latter part of the summer. I want to find very inexpensive place to stay on the Caribbean side and Cahuita looks good. What can you tell me about the area as I have never been to this side of the country. I will probably have 3-4 weeks to stay here.
I do not desire anything fancy. Simple but clean and safe is just fine for me
I will be in C.R. for at least 5 months and maybe stay for good.

I am in Cahuita right now and it is a fantastic little town, much more laid back than nearby Puerto Viejo. I am staying at the Atlantic Surf Cabinas near the entrance of the national park. He is charging me $10 a night for a nice room to myself with shower , queen bed and a single in the room (not that you need both). I reckon if you told him 5 weeks he would lower that even more as accommodation here should still be dead at the end of summer I would think?

Good luck,

Scott

I also meant to mention that I saw a few signs up for long term furnished apartment and house rentals that didn-t seem at all unreasonable for vacation rentals. Don-t know what kind of comfort level you are looking for but they were significantly cheaper that the equivalent apartment at home.
