| Rotterdam | Hogeschool Rotterdam Posted: Sun May 27, 2007 05:43 PM UTC
Im thinking about taking a placement in Rotterdam and my University has an exchange link with the Rotterdam business school (Hogeschool), is this a good uni and also is it the same as the EUR I have been reading some comments about?

Phil,
Beware, the Business School is a "Hogeschool" (Higher trade education); the EUR stands for Erasmus University Rotterdam. See the websites: http://www.rotterdambusinessschool.nl/ http://www.eur.nl/english/ It's confusing, because the Business School claims to be part of the Rotterdam University; but Hogeschool is the right description; see: http://www.rotterdam-university.nl/ PJ

Even more confusing because the Business School (formerly known as HES) and Erasmus University are located on the same campus.

Hogeschool Rotterdam is rewarding their students with Bachelor's degrees, while EUR is only for Master degrees.

What you probably mean is that EUR (Erasmus University) educates for Bachelors AND Masters degrees. A Hogeschool only for Bachelors.

Yes, exactly, but at Erasmus University most Bachelor classes are in Dutch, so it's more likely to follow a Master programm here (wich are in english).
Hogeschool Rotterdam and Inholland University have special exchange links with other schools, so students can follow bachelor classes in english, along with other foreign students. It's a great opportunity Phil!
