Livorno Port to Train Station
Posted: Sat May 26, 2007 08:23 PM UTC
We will be stopping in Livorno during a cruise in Late September and would like to know the best way to get from the port to the train station. The cruise line says the terminal will be Alto Fondale - Darsena Toscana/14

We want to travel to Florence for the day and only 10 - 12 hours in port. Thanks

You can take a cab to the train station; if there's other people going, you can try to share a cab.

Is it very far and do you know the normal cost of a cab from there to the station? Thanks.

Assuming you're unimpaired you could walk it in 15-20 minutes. Basically one straight boulevard from the big central piazza to the station.

Walking is no problem. So it is only about 15-20 minutes from that port to the train station. From what I can see there is about 1 train an hour to florence and the same coming back. Is that correct? Thanks.

www.trenitalia.com

Watch out for scheduling small print, and be aware that it may not show all possibilities for trains running two months from now, but you can get an idea.

from alto fondale walk out and take the bus to the train station. you need to first take bus 5 and then bus 1 from piazza grande
if you are a group, like 4, it's better if you share a cab to the train station
alto fondale is in the center but the exit is NOT, it's in the industrial area..
if you need more help, just let me know
