Avtonomna Respublika Krym Room in Crimea
Posted: Sat May 26, 2007 01:41 PM UTC
Hey,

I'd like to ask your help about the following problem.
I live in Budapest and I'd like to spend 10 days with my friend somewhere on the South of Crimea in the beginning of August. My problem is that we still have not any accomodation and we would like to find the cheapest solution. As we are uni students we can spend for one day only 50 hrivna together. What do you think is it possible to find some flat or I dont know what for this money?
And which city or town would be the cheapest?
If anyone could help us please contact me!
And if anyone need help about Hungary, just write me!

Thanks,

Laci, Hungary

From what I heared the private accomodation is still the king there (as well). But $10/day seem to be very tough; twice as much is probalby OK.

Just a sample: http://www.turistus.ru/sector.php

Or some ads:

http://www.turistus.ru/forum/index.php?fid=1&id=115626026376

$20-$30 / day seem to be normal there - supply and demand.

I think, you easier can find accomodation in the price range you can afford around Ohrid - Krim is not that cheap.

But maybe I am wrong.

Hey mates,

Thanks for your reply, I believe you, but I dont give up the fight!
I heared that there are some accomodation in mountain villages which are extremely cheap! Is it true? Which villages would they be?
Otherwise aparently there are people at bus stations who could give me room much cheaper than hostels or else. Does it possible
So I dont give a *** about condition of the house and room, I dont wanna go to hotel or stuff like that i just need the cheapest room!

Many things depend on. I had with someone few month ago a funny conversation:

"I would like to stay in **** (minor town, let's call it Beriberdeevka), do you know how much is the train ticket from Seholnyicsevo to Beriberdeevka?"

(I look up the jizdenka.cz, look the mza.ru and so on, takes a little time)

"It will cost you xyz Roubles. But where are you coming from?"
"I am coming from a (major world power country). I have some questions regarding Russian visa and where to stay"
"Here is the link to the company who makes the visa and here is the list of some places you may stay around Beriberdeevka. But remember: the closest railway station is 20 km away from it"
"Can you please help me? I cannot read the links"
"Do you have issues with Unicode? Try KOI8-R encoding"
"No, encoding is fine, but all I know is Ochen' kharasho, Spasiaba, Vodka"
"What do you mean?!? You going to live in Beriberdeevka and that's all you know??"
"Is it a problem? Don't they speak English there?"

I felt, the problems are more grave than how to get a visa and ow much is the train ticket or the accomodation....

So this applies to you. In mountain villages of southern Ukraina the only foreign language spoken (more-less) is Russian. You may try without it, but it wont' be easy.

This seem to be not bad, 400 RUR = 15 Euro for two people maximum. The problem is, they will need Russian visa since the village is in Russia, not Ukraina. I would not mind to go there (not this year), but for them not sure, how they would manage.

Hi!

I know it is a bit too late, but wanted to share my experience!
I went to Crimea with my two friends, and we stayed in the city of Chernomorsk. Lovely place, clean beach and sea. We payed 105.00 (ukrainian grivnia) per night for 2 bedroom house. Well, there was a TV room, and one very very big double room, kitchen, shower and toilet only for our use. Basically the whole house. The house reminded me one of the greek villas! I think it was very good deal what we had and the price we paid! Even though I met people know were paying 20 (grivnias) per night, but everything on the sharing basis, per per bed!

Thanks For the info. This looks indeed like a good deal. The usual problem is the language. If (as I did already mention) the entire language experience is limited to three words "Ochen kharasho, Spasiaba, Vodka" than it will be a major problem to find this kind of deal.
