Hi everyone. My wife and I are visiting Santander next week for a 2 night break. Ive had a look at the weather forecast and it is not good. I was wondering if anyone could suggest places to see / visit or things to do in the city. We are staying in the city centre. Any advice will be gratefully received.

First of all cross your fingers , because many times the weather forecast is wrong.
Some activities :
-Museums (There are several but for me are not highlights ) Marine , Art , Menendez Pelayo Library
-Casino
-Walk around the Palacio de la Magdalena
-Beaches ( depending on the weather )
- Eat "tapas" and good fish
-Walk to the light house , by the coast and visiting the light house museum ( nice views )
Not far away :
-Cabarceno ( a "kind of zoo if you like animals , with karstik landscapes )
-***Santillana del Mar and the Altamira Caves ( Reproduction )This is a very intersting medieval village andthe reproduction of the caves is very interestig
You have more places , but they are not so near

It is at 17Kms. from Santander
The most convenient should be to rent a car and to drive on the "right"side of the road . Perhaps you could get a bus to the main gate , but inside you must walk 25 kilometers

If you are interested in genuine caves, not replicas, go to Puente Viesgo (30 km from Santander).
